p2FAConnect: the world's first customer driven product security and digital health platform
We are leveraging proprietary p2FA codes to build p2FAConnect - the world's first customer driven product security and digital health platform. The goal of p2FAConnect is to mobilise the customer 'workforce' to address the problem of counterfeit medicines, now estimated to cost the industry $431 billion and cause one million deaths each year (NIH-NCBI, 2024).
In return, manufacturers and customers get access to a range of important features including personalised healthcare information, targeted promotions, product information updates, alert notifications, product diversion alerts, adverse events reporting, and connection with other digital health platforms.
Product Security. p2FAConnect is the only two-factor authentication platform for physical products. It is an inexpensive, simple, and scalable solution that does not require any customer training or engagement to be effective - although it is incentivised. In return for scanning a code, customers receive a share of referral rewards from affiliate pharmacies and third-party digital health apps. If a customer does not scan the code it with self-destruct anyway. p2FA codes may be deployed as a complementary technology to serialisation in developed economies, or an entire security package in countries where serialisation is impractical or prohibitively expensive. Nucleotrace p2FAConnect offers the security of serialisation but without the cost or complexity.
Personalised health data.
p2FAConnect is not just a platform for product security, but also an important channel for patient engagement and, ultimately, for delivering the best personalised healthcare outcomes, globally. To achieve effective personalised healthcare requires all kinds of patient data – personal (media use, physical activity, dietary habits), biological (genomics, biomarkers), societal (employment, demographics, education), and environmental (climate, noise, pollution). By simply scanning a p2FA code, p2FAConnect acts as central node for patient data integration and interoperability across a range of 'in-house' and third party digital health and lifestyle apps – it is not just a platform for product security.
Targeted promotions and product information updates. Highly targeted promotions and product information updates can be issued through p2FA Connect to ensure the best patient care. For example, if a patient is taking medication that indicates a particular health condition, we can issue recommendation notifications to customers to ask their doctor about another product that may offer complementary treatment.
Alert notifications. Our p2FA platform provides a low-latency communication channel between manufacturers and customers for targeted alert notifications and updated product warnings. This improves safety, reduces exposure to litigation, and permits proactive management of adverse public relations scenarios.
Product diversion detection. p2FA codes are mapped to a batch number and cross-checked against geodata when scanned, allowing the rapid probabilistic identification of diverted products. These data may be extremely valuable in identifying and shutting down unauthorised or fraudulent distributors and resellers. All four types of product diversion can be detected, including: (1) theft during manufacture, transport, storage or at point of sale (2) false end users, particularly relevant for bulk purchases where volumes of product are bought at a discount and then resold (3) substitution, or swapping legitimate product with substandard or counterfeit product into the supply chain and (4) disposition, taking product marked for destruction and passing it off as fit for sale.
Adverse events reporting. Through p2FA Connect, customers can report adverse events and side effects. We can also issue product surveys at the direction of the manufacturer. These data are anonymised and synthesised into monthly analysis reports, tightening the feedback loop between customers and companies, and improving patient safety. Product management and connection with other digital health platforms. The My Products page provides customers with a personalised dashboard for their medical products and includes re-order reminders, updated product information, and access to their full product purchase history. Customers may also book appointments through other platforms that operate in their area or re-order with prescription repeats from affiliate pharmacies. In this way, p2FA Connect represents a major customer acquisition channel for other digital health platforms.
